Israel Orders Evacuations in Southern Lebanon Ahead of Airstrikes

(MENAFN) The Israeli army issued an evacuation directive on Tuesday, urging residents south of the Zahrani River in southern Lebanon to move north immediately as airstrikes continue in the area, according to reports.

Through the social media platform X, Israeli army spokesperson Avichay Adraee confirmed that the warning targets those living south of the Zahrani River.

The alert comes amid rising regional tensions. The Lebanese Health Ministry reported on Monday evening that the death toll from Israeli attacks has reached 886, including 111 children and 67 women, with 2,141 people injured, according to reports.

The current escalation follows ongoing US-Israeli strikes on Iran that began on February 28. Israel has since expanded military operations against Hezbollah in Lebanon, despite a ceasefire agreement reached in late 2024, as stated by reports.
