Ex-Counterterrorism Chief Under FBI Scrutiny
Sources indicate that administration officials had previously considered Kent a “known leaker” and restricted his access to presidential briefings.
He is alleged to have shared sensitive information with conservative media figure Tucker Carlson as well as at least one other podcast host. According to reports, the FBI is also reviewing leaked intelligence concerning Iran and Israel as part of its inquiry.
Kent has not responded to requests for comment.
A former US Army Special Forces veteran with two decades of service and a former CIA paramilitary officer, Kent reportedly stated in an interview that Iran does not currently pose an imminent threat to the United States. He also accused pro-Israel advocacy groups and policy institutions of influencing US positions by altering Washington’s red lines regarding Iran’s nuclear program, potentially affecting diplomatic efforts.
