IRGC Warns Vessels in Strait of Hormuz Over Route Compliance
In a statement posted on US social media platform X, the IRGC Navy said that all ships intending to transit the strategic waterway are required to use a specific route previously announced by Iran, stressing that “any deviation would face firm action.”
The force further described the assigned corridor as the only secure passage through the strait, framing compliance as essential for safe navigation in the region.
The warning follows earlier comments from IRGC deputy political chief Yadollah Javani, who said that maritime movement through the Strait of Hormuz would require Iranian approval. He added that any vessel wishing to pass must first obtain authorization from Iran’s armed forces, as stated by reports citing an Iranian broadcaster.
Javani also suggested that this approach would redefine how the key shipping route is managed, saying the “new management” of the strait would contribute to shaping a wider regional and international order.
